4. DRAFT VDS EVENT
So many villagers commented on the recent questionnaire that they would like to
have a pub and shop in the village so we agreed that the theme for the ‘event’ to
launch the draft VDS should be to turn the Village Hall into a Shop & Pub ‘For One
Day (& Night!) Only’. Ideally to be held on a Friday, we would hope to organise
this sometime in the spring, say late March but of course the timing will depend
on our progress with the draft document. Group will organise their own mail shot
to all villagers, e-
We agreed that Jane’s advice would be invaluable in organising this event but, meantime, discussed the following ideas and considerations:

Display of the draft VDS document:
To decide how best to ‘blow it up’ for the best display. To consider a message to the effect that, unless villagers comment otherwise, we will assume that they like and agree with it. Hopefully the draft VDS can also go on the website so that those who can’t attend the event will have the opportunity to comment on it and we should offer to print a copy for those who request it.
5. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Chris & Rita attended the Christmas Coffee Morning at RCCE on 9th December. Although the representatives from villages who are at the same stage as us in the VDS process didn’t attend, they were able to speak with others who are at different stages of the process and it was interesting to hear that they have faced very similar difficulties to us. They noticed that a copy of our questionnaire and logo were given to representatives as examples and thought, rightly or wrongly (!), that this was reassuring.
